My name is Dave Hatfield. Since I recently earned my doctorate, I’m still enjoying being called “Dr. Dave,” but I’ll get over that in awhile. I retired from the Army after more than 21 years of service - and I still miss it sometimes. I was a Command Sergeant Major (Designee) when I retired from my position as Battalion Sergeant Major for CI(Security) Battalion, 902nd MI Group. I had tours all over the U.S. and the world - Missouri, Massachusetts, Alaska, California, the Netherlands, New Jersey, Maryland, Saudi Arabia, and Korea. The Army was good to me, and I hope I was good to it!
After retiring, I went to work as a civil servant for the Department of Defense, and have served 15 years in this capacity, although I’m soon to retire.
I finished my doctorate in 2009 (Doctor of Management in Organizational Leadership) and am embarking on a new career as an author, consultant, and expert on leadership and management. I am continuing to teach online courses for two universities - something I really enjoy. I hope to be able to share what I have learned so far with others, and to continue learning more every day.
